Omni Co.
Welcome to Omni Co. – Engineered Timber, the heart of our timber-engineering capabilities. We specialise in delivering precision-engineered structural solutions that combine modern innovation with timber’s natural performance. Our core product lines include:
Timber Frame Systems
Roof Trusses
Engineered Timber Joists
Below you’ll find an in-depth overview of each product line, their advantages, technical considerations, and links to detailed product pages. You’ll also find our accreditations, downloadable resources, and how to get in touch for a quote or specification.
Why Choose Engineered Timber
Timber continues to be a preferred construction material for its sustainability, strength-to-weight ratio, and carbon-storing properties. When carefully engineered, timber can outperform many alternatives in consistency, durability, and versatility.
Dimensional Stability
Engineered components are manufactured to tight tolerances, reducing on-site adjustments.

Sustainability
Sourced from certified sustainable forestry, engineered timber supports lower embodied carbon.

Speed and Predictability
Off-site fabrication, repeatability of details and the ability to deliver 'kit' solutions accelerates project timelines.
Integrated Services
Especially in joists and trusses, open-web designs allow MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) services to pass through, reducing conflicts and labour.
Long Spans, Open Spaces
Engineered metal-web joists allow longer unsupported spans than solid joists, enabling more flexible floor plans.

In short, Omni Co.'s engineered timber systems aim to marry the beauty and performance of timber with modern precision and flexibility.
Our Product Lines
Timber Frame Systems
Our Timber Frame systems are custom-engineered wall and floor panels, built in factory-controlled conditions and delivered to site ready for installation. We integrate structural framing, insulation zones, routing for services, and interface details, so your on-site labour focuses on assembly, not fabrication.
Key Features
-
Structural design to local building codes
-
Integration of insulation, vapour control layers and airtightness detailing
-
Pre-cut openings, sills, headers and lintels co-ordinated with architectural plans
-
Precision tolerances that reduce site cutting, waste and errors
-
Compatible with other engineered products (roof trusses, metal web joists, glulam)
Typical Uses
-
Residential Housing
-
Commercial Buildings
-
Care Homes
-
Educational Buildings
-
Social Housing
-
Healthcare
-
Modular Housing
-
Hybrid timber-steel structures
Roof Trusses
Our Roof Trusses are factory-fabricated structural assemblies that support roof loads while providing predictable geometry and rapid installation. We manufacture attic trusses, standard pitched trusses, mono-pitch, and complex hip/valley trusses.
Key Features
-
They reduce the need for on-site cutting, layout and waste
-
Each truss is designed in specialist industry software to exact geometry
-
Field time and labour onsite are greatly reduced
-
Weight is optimised for structural efficiency
-
Better alignment, less variation and fewer site adjustments
Design considerations and options
-
Span, pitch, snow and wind loadings
-
Ridge, hip, valley and gable conditions
-
Bracing and restraining systems
-
Integration with soffits, wall plates and ceilings
-
Bearing and support conditions (masonry, timber or steel)
-
Use of open-web or light-web members (especially for attic trusses)
Posi Joists (Engineered metal web joists)
Our Engineered Metal-Web Joists (often referred to as Posi-Joists or “metal-web joists”) combine timber flanges with steel web members to produce a lightweight, high-performance joist ideal for both floor and roof applications.
What are Posi joists?
These are engineered joists where the top and bottom flanges are timber (solid or engineered wood) and the internal web is a steel (or similar) open-web lattice. This open-web design allows mechanical and electrical services to run through the joist cavity without cutting or drilling, saving labour and avoiding weakening the structure.
Key Advantages
-
Longer spans and fewer supports reducing bearing walls or columns
-
Service co-ordination allowing plumbing, heating ducts and wiring to pass through the webs
-
Lightweight and easily handled therefore less load on cranes and site logistics
-
Stiffness and stability for engineered performance and reduced deflection
-
Material efficiency using less timber while meeting the same perfomance
Design and detailing
-
Depth, web spacing and chord sizing are selected per structural load and span
-
End conditions and trimming allowances are considered
-
Fire performance, acoustic resilience, vibration control are possible considerations
-
Handling, bracing and on-site storage procedures must be adhered to
-
Joist spacing, nodal bracing (stongback) and lateral restraint must be co-ordinated
Typical Uses
